Ham Sandwich

I had wanted to visit William's Farm Kitchen at Hornsea Freeport to pick up some nice ham for the week's sandwiches but didn't make it. An aversion to supermarket ham means we often rely on cheese as a filler, however, when I saw some new dry cured breaded York ham at Marks and Spencer I thought it was worth a try.

The deli section has a number of new items in stock ahead of summer, more of which later, and many, like the ham, are on offer at an introductory discounted rate. In this case, the pack came to £2.25 and contained six slices - still good value even when charged at the full rate when you think of how much a pre-packed sandwich would set you back.

We ate it on sandwiches made with soft golden wholemeal bread (£1.39 for the loaf) and deli colslaw (£1.39), also both from Marks

It was tasty, not at all salty, but perhaps sliced a little too thinly and it made a change from cheese just in time to stop whiskers appearing. Squeak.
